BRASACC is run by volunteers of different ages and backgrounds, whose one concern is to support all those who contact us. The volunteers at BRASACC are the basis of the whole organisation and without their dedication, time and effort the service could not survive. The growth and quality of the service is in large, due to the commitment of our volunteers who are willing to undertake this delicate and often difficult work.

Counselling is provided by volunteers who are trained on an approved counselling course and undergone our own intensive training course. Our Crisis Line Volunteers are also trained through our intensive training course. Regular support and supervision is required, so we use experienced counsellors and supervisors to support our Volunteer Counsellors and Crisis Line Volunteers

All services provided by BRASACC are non-judgemental, confidential and provided free of charge to those who need our help.

Becoming a Volunteer

If you want to learn more about the issues involved, please ask for details of our training course. We do not offer student placements for those studying in college or university, however we are always looking for volunteers for the following:

  • Crisis telephone support
  • Long and short term counselling
  • Fund-raising and publicity
  • Committee membership and administration
